(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Lây truyền HIV từ mẹ sang con là một trong 3 con đường chính làm lây truyền HIV/AIDS. Tuy nhiên, nếu bà mẹ được chẩn đoán sớm và điều trị hiệu quả thì tỷ lệ lây truyền từ mẹ sang con chỉ còn 2 - 6%, thậm chí là 0%. Do vậy, dự phòng lây truyền HIV từ mẹ sang con là một trong những giải pháp quan trọng, góp phần giảm đáng kể tỷ lệ trẻ sinh ra bị lây nhiễm HIV từ mẹ, hướng tới loại trừ lây truyền HIV từ mẹ sang con vào năm 2030.
