(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Ngày 13/3/1781, nhà thiên văn học người Anh gốc Đức tên là William Hershel đã khám phá ra Thiên Vương tinh, hành tinh thứ 7 trong Thái Dương hệ, nhờ sử dụng kính thiên văn phản xạ do ông tự chế tạo. Đây là phát hiện đầu tiên được thực hiện bằng cách sử dụng một kính thiên văn, cho phép Herschel xác định Thiên Vương tinh là một hành tinh, chứ không phải một ngôi sao như các nhà thiên văn học trước đó lầm tưởng.
