Theo Trung tâm Dự báo Khí tượng Thủy văn Quốc gia, do ảnh hưởng của gió Tây Nam ở rìa phía Nam rãnh áp thấp có trục 25-28 độ Vĩ Bắc nối với vùng áp thấp phía Tây đang có xu hướng phát triển về phía Đông nên từ ngày 6/5, ở vùng núi các tỉnh, thành từ Thanh Hóa đến Quảng Ngãi có nắng nóng với nhiệt độ cao nhất phổ biến 35-36 độ C.
