Chiều 12/4, giáo sư tiến sĩ Nguyễn Tài Tuệ - Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội đã chia sẻ "Báo cáo hiện trạng chất thải nhựa năm 2022," trong đó nhấn mạnh tổng khối lượng chất thải nhựa phát sinh ghi nhận được lên tới 2,9 triệu tấn/năm.
